K-Series MGB Race Car Empty K-Series MGB Race Car

Post  oneaves2005 1/7/2011, 12:22 pm

For sale is my awesome MGB Race car, possibly the best car money can buy. The car has been built from a solid mk2 1967 (I think!) bare shell, I must stress that this was a really tidy straight shell. The shell was grit blasted before replacing the sills and floors, the car was then lightened and fully seem welded. The car then went back for a further grit blast before being painted. I have the V5 for the car also.

The car is only 3 years old from being a total new build, every item on the car is either brand new or refurbished to the highest standards.

The car has a Rover K-series VHPD engine taken from a series 1 Lotus Exige 190, this engine in standard form boasts forged pistons, forged rods and a tuftrided crank. I have just had a fresh engine built which has had new liners, oil pump, water pump, Arrows conrods, treated and balanced crank, forged pistons, new valves etc etc etc. The engine is run on Lotus throttle bodies and an emerald ECU which is the nuts!

The car has a full stainless race exhaust system custom made by Zero Exhausts with very well calculated primary and secondary lengths to get the most from the engine.

The car has a lightweight flywheel and a 7 ¼ " AP race paddle clutch (not cheap), the friction plate is brand new for this year. This is fitted to a Tran-X close ratio straight cut gearbox (just rebuilt) and the car is fitted with a Tran-X limited slip differential which has just had new friction plates fitted into it. The propshaft has been highly balanced also.

The suspension is pretty trick, as good as it can be within the regulations and I have not raced against an MGB that handles better than mine. Fitted to the car are 4 lightweight forged aluminium race wheels with a set of Toyo R888 tyres.

A custom made brake bias pedal box is fitted with race cylinders and remote reservoirs, bias is adjustable in car. The car has 4-pot callipers and vented discs on the front and has just had new pads, shoes and discs fitted (to the cost of around £400).

The fuel system is wicked too, it has a lightweight tank custom made for the car, it's baffled, foam filled and has a collector pot underneath, and there is also a custom made fuel swirl pot.

Car is fitted with a light aluminium radiator, programmable cooling fan and a custom made header tank. A remote oil filter kit is fitted as well as a 13 row cooler.

Comes with TRS harness, Cobra seat, plumbed in fire extinguisher etc etc. It even comes with a newly fitted sequential shiftlight.

The car Won the Peter Best Insurance Challenge Championship last year so is a championship winning car. Out of 10 rounds in 2010 the car had 6 wins and 3 second places, and 2 lap records. The car was reliable all season.

Looking for offers

Thanks Pauly,

Feel free to check out all of my Video's, there are some other good ones worth a look.

For information the car does very similar laptimes to the ZR 190's
