With some luck my Midget will be going again.

Plenty of time... except I'm working the weeks instructing in Sydney and only get home to see the family (and the wife and kids) on weekends.

Bev's getting to see the nice bits before me. She sent me a picture of the pistons and rods before she dropped them to the man doing the machining work. I wonder if she's any good at spray painting (the engine will need painting when it's back together).

I'll be there one car or another.

I'm an Urban Search & Rescue Instructor with Fire Rescue NSW. Thats the stuff they did at Thredbo Landslide, Christchurch & Japan... the tunneling and under rubble search and rescue stuff. Every once and a while they use me in Sydney for a month or so instruct on courses or skills maintenance. FRNSW are doing their UN accreditation in September so its all hands on deck. I get to play with some nice toys.

Unfortunately it means I'm not home playing with my wife and cars. Lucky I've got some good mates... to help service the car, not the wife...

Event Schedule for Wakefield

Post  MG50 on 10/4/2012, 1:34 am

The RR Committee took entrant feedback at the last meeting a week ago and has asked the organisers for:

Sat: 2 x Practise sessions (to give entrants atwo opportunities to "learn the circuit") plus qualifying in the morning and a “longer race” (8 lapper??) in the afternoon.
Sun: 3 races (6,10 and 8 laps) – longer race will be in the middle of the day and will be the “Hobsons Stores” feature race.

For those who've not travelled to Wakefield, if you can be on the road by 5pm, you can be in Melbourne (crossing the river - thyru the tunnel - if headed south) by 11:30pm.

Look no closer than "home". I seem to remember a certain Touareg steaming past me at Warp-10 the last time I was in Wakefield .... but I gues it does depend on the tow-car.
