Looking forward to Wakefield, new track (im still learning the old ones!) but also a new challenge. Does anyone know if Rob Whitwell and/or Mort will make it? I think it will be an interesting battle between the V8's of Bailey, etc and Meyer for the outright win with Andrew Howell not too far behind.

Bailey's pretty quick around there. Might be closer to Damien than we think

Good to see Darren Hodgson coming out to race if I am thinking of the right person he has always gone to the car club national meetings and has a old MoPro MGF. He was always quick in the sprint and motorkhana's should be interesting to see how he goes and hopefully we can talk him into coming to run with us down here.

Is this the debut of Mottrams FB?

So the list looks something like this then...

#11-David Mottram-MG B-Victoria
#13-Damien Meyer-MG Midget-NSW
#21-Peter Dunn-MG TF Cup-Victoria
#28-Paul Vernall-MG ZR 160-Victoria
#32-Rodney Gibb-MG TF Cup-SA
#39-Rhys Howell-MG B Roadster-Vic
#48-Glenn Campbell-MG B GT-Vic
#49-Jane Vollebregt-MG B Roadster-Vic
#50-Robin Bailey-MG B GT V8-Vic
#64-Darren Hodgson-MG F Trophy 160-NSW
#82-Stephen Jones-MG B Roadster-NSW
#91-Andrew Howell-MG ZR-Vic
#525-Brad Forgeard-MG Midget-NSW
+
-Greg Hewson-MG Midget-Vic
-Chris Gidney-MG ZR-Vic

Where are all the NSW guys, I would of thought the Taylor V8 would of been repaired by now to front up, and surely a few Sb guys could of run?

18 MGs on the entry so I know I'll be seeing 17 british cars infront of me.

Darren and I have been mistaken for brothers and by the look of the event you've mentioned, you have the right person. He'll be up there having fun... I can watch from the back.

My midget engine (bottom end) will be back together tomorrow hopefully, and the cracked head has been successfully repaired. Hopefully a few weeks will hear her singing again.

This event seems a bit disorganised, what time is Doc check ? Scrutineering..

We were meant to have four practice sessions, now we get 2 with the sprint sessions and the 2nd one is 15 mins before Quali.

It was great to see all of you that took the time to come north of the border. I hope it becomes a regular trip.

Thanks also to the GT that has made sure my B will never rust, at least at the front end. The donation of several litres of oil over my windscreen and whole front of my B over a number of races was very generous. It gave me something to do in between races while everyone else was working on their MGs.

Hope to see you all again very soon. The aim is Phillip Island & Sandown but Winton may be interesting. I just have to see if my sponsor is still forthcoming with funds.

Yes I saw that in my mirror Steve. Gave me an extra incentive to stay in front!

Good to see AASA doing their job with the black flags...

The black lights were in force though, because there certainly weren't any blue lights.

Great track and generally a good meeting although a lack of organisation was a bit frustrating. Then scrutineering missed half the field???
The track is a real challenge, I really enjoyed it and the run over the top and down the hill seperates cars and drivers pretty quick.
Would be nice to go back but one question...where were all the NSW boys/girls?
Thanks to the NSW guys that did come, it was great to have you, the dinners were a great social aspect and added to the weekend. Also thanks to Damo and Greg H who were happy to give me plenty of advice learning the new track! Very Happy
Now...how can I buy a sequential???

Re: Round 2 - Wakefield Park Meeting - May 5-6

Ive got the first 3 races on youtube already (look for griffinracing & MG). The camera didn't start (where was my pit crew) for the last race though it would have been exceedingly boring as I got sick of wearing oil all over my car and dropped back a bit and waited for the big boys to come through. It must have cost a fortune to keep oil up to that BGT. I did set my fastest lap in that race.

I got to watch the Damien/ Robin as they flew past me (if I waved drivers through any more enthusiastically I would have taken off) and the attempt to pass an unnamed BGT that bought about Robins demise. That would have been iteresting viewing (if the camera had worked).

As to the location of all the other NSW people, the importanmt ones where running and the others seemed to have very busy social calendars. So did I but I wasn't going to miss the chance to race with you guys after a 3 1/2 hrs trip rather than the usual 13 hrs I have to do when ever I want to play in your sand pit. You doing the drive was hard but greatly appreciated. I did notice that your club offered a subsidy to those making the trip. Can I get one for doing the trip to Vic?

I hope you consider doing it again. Hopefully I'll have the Midget next meeting and won't have to worry about leaky BGT's.

Only subsidy was 50% bonus points for going to Wakefield. Hopefully a few guys like Roland McIntosh make the trip down as his midget would be ideal at places like PI and Winton

Pauly,

Yeh, a bit boring but at least I was there. Thats one up one quite a few. I made more noise than those that didn't compete.

I was right about the towing subsidy. I got an email from John Baragwanath asking for bank details. I'm a registered participant!!! Maybe I can get it for my trip down in October/November. lol! Nice to dream.
