MG TF Cup Car for sale - probably the most successful ever

Post  ARadford on 15/2/2011, 11:36 am

MG TF Cup Car

One of the 30 original Cup Cars this is the most successful, most historically important car of any that were produced. Still in superb condition, taking class wins and won outright it’s last race! The car’s history is superb and fully documented in the UK – this is a well known car in UK MG racing circles;

1998 – MGF Cup Champion driven by James Rhodes, numerous wins, poles, fastest laps
1999 – MGF Cup Champion driven by Warren Hughes (later MG works driver), won half of the 14 rounds and 11 fastest laps
2000 -2004 – raced by Malcolm Gammons in MGF Cup and successor series run by the MG Car Club (MG Mayflower Trophy, MG X Power Trophy), many outright and class wins
2005 – did not race
2006 – raced in MG Trophy with many class wins and poles
2007 – did not race
2008 – 2010 – raced in the MG Trophy by the current owner. Class A Champion in 2009 (4 class wins) and often front runner overall. Part of the winning team in the Birkett 4 hour relay race at the end of 2010 gaining coverage in Autosport magazine.

Maintained to the highest standards throughout its life, retaining the original shell (upgraded to TF specification). Engine re-fresh in 2010 and regular maintenance/replacement of all major mechanical parts on a regular basis. Beautifully finished in Trophy blue (same paint scheme as from the 1999 MGF Cup).

Only call if you want the very best. Price £30,000. Call Andrew in the UK on +44(0)7802 752 246 or email andrew.radford@bdo.co.uk

Hi there

No unfortunately not - should have put it in dollars really(!) €47,500 or nearest offer. It should be appearing in the magazine shortly as well with some pictures - I couldn't get them to upload here.

Is that Tony Raine's old car in your photo?

Cheers
Andrew

I know that car well! No not looking at ZRs particularly but may consider building a new MG TF next year.

You seem to be doing well in that car, its a good one. Are there many ZRs racing down there at the moment? There seem to be a lot of Cup Cars in Oz now, maybe 20?
