Yeh, I keep checking every day or so, serching for something to brighten my life, but alas, everyone seems to busy down south to get time to sit before the keyboard and shovel forth their wisdom. Very Happy

Q: will there be a social get together and dinner at Hobsons Stores during the Sandown weekend in November?

Greg,

I've been given permission to do the next engine rebuild straight away since the majority of the parts can be swapped straight over. The block is getting machined next week (I'll be back to 1330 or 060" over to give me some play room in the future) and as far as I know I have everything on hand now.

Hopefully next weekend will be a dry build to work out deck height and the depth of the relief in the pistons then the final machining and maybe, just maybe a start up in a fortnight or so.

I've modified the cross member that the rack bolts to to allow room to change a fan belt if required and to make engine fitting easier.

Don't hold your breath but I may just make it to the last round.

Would you recommend the 3.7 diff or 4.2 for Sandown?

Throw in the fact that I'm preparing my B for a run at the first event on the new south circuit at Eastern Creek (since the Midget won't make it) and things aren't boring up my way.

Hi Steve, glad to hear you are back on track....starting with a fresh sleeveless block I presume? You won't notice much difference from 1330 to 1380.

Run the 3.7 at Sandown, I reckon you'll run out of puff with the 4.2....very long straights.

Cheers

Hopefully Sandown will be a huge grid, maybe a couple of new cars appearing.

I'm holding off till I know whether I have a car or not but planning on getting an entry in before October if things are looking positive.

Greg, I got on to a clean block that was only 020 over. I've gone to 060 so I should be able to take a couple more bites in the future. I'm not offset boring it which will limit me to 1380 but that will hopefully be several years and rebuilds down the track.

I'll run the 3.7. Thanks for the info.

See you all there.

Where is everyone. Surely not everyone can be working on their MG's (and stop calling me shirley).

My entry is in for Sandown and I'm trying to get information on any social events over the weekend. No body wants to chat.
