Sandown Entry List
Small Field,
Lot of the Modern cars are not there, cant say I blame them really, standing on the sidelines at Phillip Island listening to "The old group" of MG Racing complaining about the modern cars especially the ZR's and Cup cars and calling them "modern pieces of shit" I would not want to race either, wait till they have to race with the E 30's due to too small a grids, we saw what they were like at Winton..... its a pity as the cars they are complaining about are all MG's.

I'd comment but would be unfair considering I'm hiding behind a full-scale tattoo of myself to retain the illusion of anonymity

Sure wish I was at Sandown. Started putting the gearbox together after the parts finally arrived. Just needed an extra week I guess!

Re: Sandown R3
So the weekend is over, shame about numbers and the weather (cold much?) but Congrats to Robin Bailey , two wins and two seconds and the round win, a worthwhile weekend for him. Both V8's featured well in the Sports Cars as well with Robin battling with Brian Power's GT3 and Mort with the 7 litre Vette (6th and 7th overall guys well done). Andrew Howell's hot hatch taking second and Ross Kaigg a well earnt third and the Peter Lee trophy!
A few guys found the lack of track temp an issue trying to get heat in the tyres not sure if it was for everyone, good to see Peter Brice return, he really throws that thing around. Hopefully Don Edwards is okay and the car is back soon after his little off and the other battle scared cars are better soon.
In non MG news Tom Hutchinson debuted his stunning new TVR, at least it's still British and can stick it to the Porkers!!!

Re: Sandown R3
Not enough cars entered means no MG racing.......there is an expression(old world I know)...cutting off one's nose to spite your face.
Best way to ensure the future of MG Racing so that you will have somewhere to race you MG is to ignore the comments you have heard and enter your MG. Again there is another old saying......sticks and stones.............etc.

Dave, I don't think thats the issue why the "modern cars" was not out. Just bad timing I think. Most people don't listen to people moaning.
