Should the classes be reduced from 6 to 3, that means a V8's will be in the same class as a 4 Cylinders.

What do you think ?

Don't really see that it needs a major change...there could be an argument for combining historic (only 2x v8's currently) and fast road (2x v8's currently) but Open should be left in two classes.

A quick look at the runners so far this year shows
Open 1 - 10 competitors in 2011
Open 2 - 4 competitors in 2011
Fast Road 1 - 10 competitors in 2011
Fast Road 2 - 1 competitor in 2011
Historic 1 - 13 competitors in 2011
Historic 2 - 2 competitors in 2011

There are a few people who have not run who usually would, for example Open 2 usually has up to 6-7 cars a year (whitwell a notable exclusion). I think that justifies both Open classes remaining the same. In Fast Road 2 it has only been Rosemary who would also be eligible for Historic 2 this year otherwise Anthony Richardson is the only other Fast Road V8 I can think of right now(?). Maybe leave the 4 cylinder classes and just combine Historic 2/Fast Road 2 and let the 'smaller' v8's run against each other as none of them seem to run full season anyway and Woody and Mark have been pretty quick...just a thought

The "smaller" V8 class could work pretty well, it wouldn't change much and give them more competition.

I personally do not support any change to the current 7 classes ( 6 MG plus Invited). Does it improve MG Racing- NO, Does it improve the experience of those already competing - NO. Will it bring more competitors to MG Racing- NO. If there are no runners in a class, so what. The numbers in the classes will vary from year to year. A couple of years ago Historic was the biggest class, this year it is Open. If it ain't broken- don't fix it.

To me it seems a few people who do the odd race a year seems to be pushing this motion, but most regulars who do most of the season don't want it changing.

If its not broke, dont try to fix it.

I have not heard any more on what we are voting on,

So it going to be 3 classes, Dark coloured cars, light colours or mixed colours

Or Male class, female class and not sure class.
Or British class, Aussie class and other class
Or Under 25's, 26 to 40, 41+

My vote would be car colours.

...and all of these classes will still forbid Rovers from competing of course. Laughing
